Meetup 2 report

2023-04-26

The second NOG.HR meetup was hosted by Hrvatski Telekom on the 20th of April 2023, which provided the conference hall and organized food and refreshments. More than 60 people attended in person and about 20 via video conference. Through the lectures, we learned about some new trends in the world of computer networks and technologies, as well as the experiences that people encountered when implementing their own networks and systems.

After the introductory lecture by Branimir Rajtar, president of the NOG.HR association, in which he presented the survey results of the previous meetup, Ivan Visković from Hrvatski Telekom made a presentation about what the 5G mobile network brings us. Ralph Smit from RIPE NCC told about what RPKI is and explained the basic procedure for implementation, after which Petar Pisnjak shared experiences and difficulties in connecting Infobip data centers through VPNs.

After the break, David Huberman took over the speaker’s place, who spoke about KINDNS - the ICANN initiative to define good DNS server configuration practices. Karlo Crnjak from CS Computer Systems continued with the topic of EVPN, and after him, Jan Žorž from 6connect labs shared his experiences with the implementation of services on anycast.

After the lectures, we moved to a nearby cafe where we had our social event.

We thank everyone for their participation and sponsors Hrvatski Telekom, RIPE NCC and ICANN, and we hope that the number of visitors will continue to grow with each new meetup.
